Embedding with Canva is as easy as copying and pasting the URL for your Canva content into your OneNote page. By doing this, your users can interact with your embedded content in a way similar to other embedding features available for apps on OneNote.

Let’s cover the steps for introducing your Canva content:

Introducing your Canva content

  • Begin by adding a design into Canva, either your own or one offered by the site. In a separate tab, log in to your Canva for Education account.
  • Once you’re in Canva’s editor, take the time to use a template and edit its elements, texts, and graphics.
  • Once your design is completed, click on the three dots which are located in the upper right corner of the Canva page. From there, choose the embed option and copy your smart embed link.
  • Open OneNote and paste your Canva link into the document. Your design should appear. You’ll be able to customize both your note and graphic through OneNote now, allowing you to add anything from additional graphics, text, audio, or even video playback.

At this time, while OneNote supports Canva in its web to start form, it is still currently unsupported for Windows 10, Mac, iPad, and Android smartphones. It is currently in development to be integrated into the standalone OneNote program.

  • Using Canva in your Classroom:

If you’re looking for other ways to utilize Canva for your students or in an education situation, here are a few ideas you can take advantage of:

Canva in Classroom

  • You can create more complex slides with text, video, audio, and images. This can be especially useful for explaining difficult concepts and similar ideas.
  • Utilize OneNote for brainstorming sessions. You can start from scratch or use one of the many templates offered by OneNote.
  • Utilize Canva in your off time, building a collection of visuals and ideas, as well as lesson plans you can use in the classroom.

However you plan to use Canva in your classroom, this great free graphic design tool is a must for anyone looking to make great visuals.

Its integration with other programs makes it a highly adaptable tool for any graphic designer.
